The new integration allows Grok Bot to search, read, and send messages across Microsoft Teams chats and channels. Distributed through the Cursor Marketplace, this first-party plugin enables developers to build AI agents that can summarize long discussion threads, retrieve specific project details, and post automated status updates directly into a company's workspace. The tool focuses strictly on messaging, meaning it excludes administrative tasks like scheduling meetings, managing shifts, or broader Microsoft Graph operations.

To use the new connector, developers need a paid Cursor plan—such as Cursor Pro, Pro+, Ultra, or Cursor Teams—or a linked SuperGrok subscription, which includes the SuperGrok, SuperGrok Plus, and SuperGrok Heavy tiers. The Teams plugin joins xAI's existing suite of integrations for Outlook, Calendar, and OneDrive. By combining these tools, practitioners can design complex workflows where an agent retrieves a file from OneDrive, cross-references it with a Teams discussion, checks deadlines on a calendar, and posts a summary back to the chat.

Setting up the tool requires a standard OAuth authentication process, which may require administrator approval depending on organizational tenant policies. Because the bot gains the ability to write and send messages, developers must carefully manage access controls and test retrieval in limited channels. For teams requiring deeper administrative capabilities, third-party toolkits like Composio remain an option, exposing roughly 150 additional Teams actions including shift management and metadata reading, though they introduce extra operational complexity regarding token storage and authorization.
