Google Cloud taps Accenture to boost Gemini AI adoption

Google Cloud and Accenture have established a new joint division, the Accenture Gemini Enterprise Business Group, to deploy specialized engineers directly into corporate client offices. Under the agreement, Google will train up to 1,000 of Accenture's forward-deployed engineers to build custom artificial intelligence applications using the Gemini Enterprise platform. The new organization will operate under Accenture's corporate umbrella as part of a broader industry push to solve enterprise deployment bottlenecks.

The partnership comes as major technology providers face immense pressure to turn massive infrastructure investments into tangible revenue. While Google Cloud generated $24.8 billion in the second quarter, its parent company Alphabet reported $811 billion in purchase commitments and contractual obligations as of June 30. Despite these massive outlays, many enterprise clients are struggling to realize a clear return on investment from their AI spending, prompting tech giants to offer hands-on engineering support to drive adoption.

Google is currently fighting to expand its market share in corporate AI spending. According to August data from financial platform Ramp, Google accounts for roughly 6% of enterprise AI spending among Ramp's U.S. customers, trailing Anthropic at 43.5% and OpenAI at 39.7%. Google has disputed these figures, noting they exclude major enterprise clients like Oracle, Meta, and ServiceNow. To close the gap, Google previously launched a $750 million partner ecosystem commitment to embed engineers at firms like Deloitte, Capgemini, and Cognizant.

For enterprise developers and IT leaders, this initiative means direct access to certified experts who can bridge the gap between raw AI models and practical business workflows. Rather than navigating complex API integrations alone, practitioners will work alongside trained engineers to build tailored agentic AI systems. This hands-on approach aims to transform Gemini from a general-purpose tool into a highly customized engine integrated directly into existing enterprise software architectures.
