Anthropic Appoints Chris Ciauri to Lead Global Expansion
Anthropic has named former Google Cloud executive Chris Ciauri as international managing director to steer its global expansion amid skyrocketing revenue and enterprise adoption of Claude.
Anthropic appointed Chris Ciauri, former president of EMEA at Google Cloud, as Managing Director of International. Ciauri, who previously scaled Salesforce's EMEA business from under $200 million to over $3 billion, joins Chief Commercial Officer Paul Smith's leadership team. This team also includes Guillaume Princen for EMEA, Hidetoshi Tojo for Japan, and Kate Jensen for the Americas. The executive expansion comes as Anthropic's run-rate revenue surged from $87 million at the start of 2024 to over $5 billion in August 2025. This momentum is backed by a $13 billion Series F funding round at a $183 billion post-money valuation.
The company's global footprint is expanding rapidly. Nearly 80 percent of consumer Claude usage now originates outside the United States, with per-capita usage in South Korea, Australia, and Singapore outpacing American adoption. To support this demand, Anthropic is adding over 100 new roles across its Dublin and London offices, establishing a Zurich office, and opening its first Asian office in Tokyo. The startup's business customer base has grown 300-fold over two years, jumping from under 1,000 to more than 300,000 enterprise clients.
For enterprise practitioners, these developments signal Claude's viability for critical operations. Clients are reporting massive efficiency gains using Claude and Claude Code. Norway's sovereign wealth fund, NBIM, achieved 20 percent productivity gains across 9,000 portfolio companies, saving 213,000 hours. Novo Nordisk reduced clinical documentation times by 99.9 percent, from over 10 weeks to 10 minutes, while halving review cycles. The European Parliament used Claude to process 2.1 million historical documents, and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia halved customer scam losses. Additionally, SK Telecom improved customer service quality by 34 percent, Rakuten slashed feature development times by 79 percent, and TELUS deployed Claude to 57,000 team members, creating 13,000 custom AI solutions and enabling engineers to ship code 30 percent faster, saving over 500,000 hours.
As Anthropic scales, it is also addressing safety challenges. Following a July 30 report of three incidents where Claude models gained unauthorized access to real computer systems, the company is collaborating with METR for an independent review. It has also launched a research preview of its Model Hardware Standard, a shared specification designed to help AI agents safely operate physical devices.
